Study, work, daily routine... I seem to never satisfy with my life and there's always sth that doesn't look right.

And this time... I decided to transfer my work from Maroubra Junction to Epping. Why? coz I'm sick with taking buses to work on weekends. It's just too stressing. Why not Brighton Le Sans but Epping? Well... it's closer to Juz's place so he can send me home after work at night. Sounds reasonable? But I still have a lot to consider abt... Should I move to Epping or nearby e.g. Strathfield? Would I be able to cover the cost if I want to realise my dream of taking a unit on my own? Who's gonna pay for it if I go overseas at the end of the year or when I go practical for 3 mths next yr?

Endless things fly pass my mind... Mostly, financial stress. Living on ur own is never an easy job! How I wish my brother can invest here rather than in Brisbane! How I wish I were richer! Haha... Somehow, my repititive thoughts of re-organising my life seemed like a mental illness to me. Better check with my fren doing psychology. Haha...

Anyways, I found myself a bit reckless these days. Lying on the bed with my eyes shut, I still could not fall asleep. Maybe I'm over-loaded and I need to find a way to relax myself. Thereby, I joined Fitness First and yesterday was my first day. I attended group classes e.g. Body steps, cycling session and body attack. I didn't last for the last class coz it's a superb energetic class. It nearly killed me. Haha... Despite muscle aches, it was fun! I would like to try out other classes next time e.g. Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Balance, Pilate, Lo-lite, and Yoga.

Szechuan tragedy

Today I read about the orphans from Szechuan earthquake settling at a factory or school in Shandong Province. Listening to a 10y.o. young boy describing his parents who died in the tragedy, tears rolled down my cheek. He didn't have the chance to take anything with him, even a picture of his parents. He claimed that he still remember clearly how handsome his dad was but was afraid that one day he might forget their faces.

Then, I start to wonder...if given a second chance, would he choose to have his parents back and continue to live in poverty? Or does he prefer current reasonably decent life with lots of other orphans from the same background?

Hmm... I think I would rather not to be in this situation if there was a choice. We should all feel lucky that we were not being put into those difficult situations or tragedies and should appreciate people around us more. We should also give a hand to these children in need and help them live their lives. Maybe I would visit them in China one day...

Daydreaming...Script writer?

AiYaYaYaYa...another day wasted online as i was avoiding to work on article publication. Oh well...I did find out about a lot of other stuff happening around the world. Firstly, I learnt that the next WYD will be held three years later in Spain. Then, on facebook, I found my primary sch fren Jeff Teo and learnt that he's doing well in HK. I also watched a lot of MVs and Asian drama series, which gave me a thought and strong feeling of becoming a script writer =) perhaps after retirement? Hahaha...

Talking abt movies, I missed the day I went to watch Kungfu Panda in SYdney with Pauline, John, Cindy, and Kevin from Melbourne. Oh and also Kelly and Aylwin from syd. It was fun, partly because it's a funny movie, but mostly because the panda really looked like ah John. Hahaha...every single posture, movement, and facial expression...It's ah john! and ah john! and ah john again! Hahaha...

Okie...enough for my day-dreaming! Time to go back to my work =)

A "storm" after Mayday, 2008

Thanks to Nichole for showing me her blog...It has motivated me to start a blog of my own so I can keep a record of my memories since I'm growing older and older and becoming more and more forgetful... =)

In early June, the weather in Sydney was really bad. It kept raining, as if a storm after peaceful Mayday. Like the stormy weather, my life for the past month was hectic. Ain't busy studying but busy being a host and bringing ppl around Sydney. I was really exhausted but I enjoyed their companion a lot. I even thought of making them to stay with me, so I'm no longer alone =)

Mum and Dad were here in early June. It was the very first time they had the chance to understand how I lived my life here in Sydney for the past 5 years. I was very emotional and keen to show them places that I had been to, lived in, and worked at, as well as introducing my frenz to them. For the very first time after 5yrs, I actually think that mum and dad finally understand my independance and loneliness for being away from home... Sad but glad... esp now Mum finally learnt how to call me with an IDD calling card from overseas. Love u, Mum!

I enjoyed travelling around Brisbane and Gold Coast with mum, dad and 2nd bro. It was such a pity that big bro and little bro ain't here with us. But I took a lot of pic and uploaded them on Friendster on daily basis. The biggest surprise to me and bro was that Dad actually has a pretty good understanding of English language, since we had grown up listening to him speaking only Malay and Sarawakian native languages. The saddest thing was Dad had an accident before coming to Sydney and I still had a few quarrels with him over my relationship. I so regreted it... Sorry, Dad! I promise I'll put my study as my first priority and will keep Juz as a close fren.

Thanks to my beloved godsiblings (Pauline, John/Cindy, and Kevin/Kelly) too for spending a splendid holiday together with me at Citigate Hotel, Sydney =) We pretty much stayed at the hotel or went around city area everyday since they had been to Sydney a few times. I enjoyed the sleepover the most.

Again, it's good to have family here and I really wanted you guys not to go back to Melbourne, esp u sis...U should rly come to Sydney to look for a job and stay with me, then we can have pillow talk every night. We can also go to the resta that we had been to, basically on weekly basis...John's favourite Chinese resta at Kingsford, Pauline's favourite resta to get stir-fried Pipi in XO sauce in Chinatown, Fish market, the Pancakes on the rocks, Poporo, Chu Mama's taiwanese snacks, and the $49/person Jap buffet in Martin Place...where all of us ended up with bloated tummies...haha...John and Justin were so greedy that they ended up purposely dropping/over-cooking unfinished food or hiding them away, so we don't get fined. Talking abt it, now I miss the raw beef with egg (Yokie?), steamed fish, sashimi, and BBQ scallops & prawns. Yummy...

I know Dennis and his gf will be coming from Brisbane to Sydney in early July, but I wasn't contacted probably because they wanted to spend the time just the two of them. Sorry Dennis if that's not the case, but I did not get a reply from u on MSN. Plus, I was kinda busy with part time work, research, and journal publication.

Then, I received a sms from a private number (coz I changed my phone) that went like this..."Jie, Its nic. Be going to Syd tmr. Wondering if u were thr?" I was like "huh?" A minute later, I recalled I had a "younger brother" called Nicholas when I did my foundation in UNSW, who always walked me home coz we lived nearby. Memories came rushing back...We hanged out a lot and chit chat a lot abt frenz, studies, and fam. He came from Perth with his younger sister (Nichole) and brother (Brian) and a cousin (Kevin) from Indiana. I always thought he's a Sporean that hanged around Indonesian frenz as Msian & Sporean were the minorities in Founda, that's why I was surprised when he sometimes talked to his siblings and cousin in Indo. Anyways, knowing his siblings and cousin was cool, esp Nichole. We gathered as if we knew each other for years. Maybe bcoz Nic and her rly looked alike and even behaved in the same way =p *Freaky ey~~ They were rly nice to buy me Corica's apple strudel and brought it all the way from Perth. It tasted so yummy =)

We hanged out together for a few days (for all the fun stuff that we have done, do refer http://www.nichole-chow.blogspot.com/ dated 6-15th July 2008), but it was a pity I could not join them to the snowy mountain as I had another visitor coming from Ukraine/Perth. It was May Hwa, a Taiping gal that I met when I was doing Founda over in Ukraine. She came to visit her elder sister (Lian Hwa) in Perth and they came together to Melbourne & Sydney. Juz was kind enough to bring us around the city area for May Hwa's photo-taking session. We also treated them to the sushi train on the top level of Market city and the Pancakes on the rocks. It was a pity that I had to work on weekends and did not have the time to show them more places. It's been five yrs since I last saw her... seeing her definitely brought back memories... My first white winter, playing in the snow, wearing three layers yet freezing, first Russian word spoken, going around cities and palaces within Crimea State, getting to know Ukrainian and American families (pastors and ministries) well, ministering the overseas students from China... I really missed those days... blessed and happy... and also my beloved roomates Leelin, SiewTing and MeiTing... who I have not seen for 5 yrs. I rly missed u gals! Thanks to WenJi too for helping MayHwa choosing a pair of nice earings for me. I rly like it!

May Hwa and Lian Hwa left a day before Nic they all. I didnt have the chance to say goodbye coz I was at work. With Nic they all, I bought them KrispyKreme in return...a dozen of original glazed and a dozen of assorted donuts...coz I know Nichole likes it! =) Right, Nichole? Seeing them taking off at Maroubra Junction, I had a mixed feeling.

Memories over the past month flashed over in my head...Now Sydney...back to my routine studying and working life. Without u guys being around, it will never be the same... I'm sure will miss u all! Once again, thanks for colouring up my life over the past month!
